Position Description:
Position Profile A Girls on the Run® Board Member must possess a passion for and commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development program (PA-PYD) that uses running as a vehicle to influence positive social, cognitive, physical, emotional and psychological assets and development. Over the course of the program, girls will: Develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, develop strength of character, respond to others and oneself with care and compassion, create positive connections with peers and adults, and make a meaningful contribution to community and society. Such life skills will prevent unhealthy and risky behaviors, such as physical inactivity and negative body image, and promote positive health outcomes (e.g., physical, mental, social, and spiritual health). As a Board Member • Regularly attends Board meetings & related important meetings • Makes a serious commitment to participate actively in Board work • Volunteers for & willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly & on time • Stays informed about committee matters, prepares her/himself well for meetings, and reviews & comments on minutes & reports • Gets to know other committee members and builds collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus • Is active in committees, annual evaluation, and planning efforts • Participates in fundraising for the organization 
Skills Required:
• Is a member of the board • Oversees thorough and accurate set of books and paying bills (cash book, ledger, bank accounts, checking accounts, stocks/bonds etc.) • Overseas the filing State/Federal financial reports in timely manner • Give Board a regular & complete treasurer’s report at meetings or other scheduled specific times. It is the Executive Director’s responsibility to demand report is submitted if it is not forthcoming. • Provides annual budget to Board for member’s approval • Ensures development & Board review of financial policies and procedures

Position Description: Learn the current double entry system of accounting. (Sage Peachtree) Monthly study the detail general ledger, looking for improprieties in the system and present the financial Statements to the board once per month at Board meetings. Learn the Fraud prevention system and suggest improvements as needed. 
Skills Required: Double entry accounting. GAPP Familiar with Federal 990 and requirements. Trained in Fraud prevention
